The researchers from Melbourne’s RMIT University believe their technology is a potential game-changer for steel and 40ft shipping container homes concrete manufacturing, which are fuelling climate change and together produce about 14 per cent of global CO2 emissions.
Dr Daeneke, co-lead researcher Dr Ken Chiang and colleagues also recently signed a $2.6 million agreement with Australian environmental technology company ABR, which is looking at solutions to decarbonise cement and steel production.
